This volume increased when Naruto meets Jiraiya. He teaches Naruto is the vessel which prisons the 9 tail fox demon. He breaks part of the seal and took Naruto to control the demon's chakra. This technique is essential, and put to the test when Naruto meets Neji in the first round. This battle is certainly the highlight of this set. It is very intense and I think Naruto develops more as a serious nature. There is also a little backstory on Neji origin. I thought it was interesting and his hatred is fully explained.
This season contains a bit of swearing, which was almost non-existent in the first 4 volumes. So for some people, there is probably not a good thing. A lot of these episodes feel more like filler to me and did a real good job teasing battle between Sasuke and Gaara. I do not think that the filler episodes were completely wasted. They did help further the plot a little. The story does start to get deeper and a new threat arises. I just hope the series will not be very repetitive and formulaic like the 4th season of Inuyasha.
This volume contains episodes 53-65 and give you a new opening, plus a good trailer for the 6 volume. I will wait for that one.
